While addressing the audience at the Global women Conference in Mombasa recently, Joho said getting a poor grade in one's secondary school education should not be seen as a failure in life; what matters is what one does thereafter.

Joho stated that everyone has the potential to achieve in life regardless of how he/she performed in KCSE.

What you only need, he added, is to give it a try which is how you realise your hidden potential and strength.

The county boss said Kenyans are in the habit of judging people without putting into consideration how one's past was.

Joho said during his O-level education, he only managed to get a D- minus which most people considered a fail.

"You judge someone by historical struggles without taking into consideration that each one of us may have some kind of potential in them and they only need to find it and bring it out. I was a D minus* but I hold two degrees and the first Governor of Mombasa, and watch the space; I know it is possible," said Joho.

Though he performed dismally in his KCSE, it did not hinder him from becoming one of the leading business personalities in the country.
