It now emerges that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna had the last laugh even after being kicked off the podium by Malindi lawmaker Aisha Jumwa on Friday.
Jumwa caused a scene at Jilore, in Malindi, after interrupting the former Nairobi senatorial aspirant's speech, accusing him of disrespecting mourners by engaging in politicking during the funeral burial of Governor Amason Kingi's father.
However, according to Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa, Jumwa was rendered the loser at the end of the function, after the Governor later invited Sifuna to proceed with his speech.
"Hata ni Jumwa ndiye aliyeaibishwa maana Kibgi aliposimama alimwita Sifuna aendelee na hotuba yake (Jumwa ended up the loser as Kingi later invited Sifuna to proceed)," said the ODM Nairobi county Chair.
He was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungunzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.
He fired shots at Jumwa for disrespecting her office, advising her to seek better ways of solving her differences with fellow politicians.
The vocal parliamentarian also faulted Jumwa for her overconfidence, daring her to prove her might by resigning and seeking the seat afresh.
"Asiwe mtu wa kujipiga kifua, kama anaona anaweza ajiondoe ofisini turudi katika uchaguzi (if she thinks she has what it takes then let her resign and allow for fresh elections)," he added.
The MP who has since been expelled from ODM crossed over to Deputy President William Ruto's side.
