The dormitory was completely burnt to the ground.

Eye witnesses told this writer that the fire broke out at around 9.00pm on the fateful night.

"I just saw the dormitory burst in flames and ran to see what was happening," said one of the school's watchmen.

The watchman said the fire was so huge hence posed a challenge in putting it out.

The school's principal Julius Mutune confirmed the incident.

"The fire started at around 9pm when all students where attending night prep," Mutune said.

The cause of the fire has not been established though preliminary reports indicate that it was caused by electric fault.

There are speculations that it could have been started by students.

"If any student was involved then we are doing our investigations together with the police so we will find out," Mutune said.
