Opposition leader Raila Odinga has insisted that the renewed war against corruption is not targeting any particular community or individuals.
Raila says that the only people being targeted are criminals who have squandered public money and resources.
Speaking when he met a section of Garissa leaders at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi on Monday, the former Prime Minister said that no mercy will be shown to criminals stealing from public coffers.
"Corruption is a major enemy of the people of Kenya, the war against corruption does not target any particular individuals or community rather aimed at criminals," Raila stated.
A section of politicians has been crying foul, accusing state agencies mandated to fight graft of allegedly targeting particular individuals and communities.
The politicians, majority who are allied to Deputy President William Ruto allege that the war against graft has been weaponized to block his (Ruto's) 2022 presidential bid.
The Director of Criminal Investigation (DCO) and the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) have however refuted claims of targeting particular people in war against graft.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has been quoted saying that the renewed fight against graft will not spare those involved in stealing taxpayers money.
The President has equally maintained that no particular community or individual is being targeted other than those stealing from taxpayers coffers.
