The race for the country's top seat is fast gaining momentum, with Kenyans already engaging in the 2022 succession debate.
Deputy President William Ruto, who has been accused of engaging in premature campaigns by launching different projects across the country, is seen as the front-runner in the race. However, a section of Kenyans have argued that the Mt Kenya region may not support Ruto, and may instead front their own candidate.Willie Mbugua, a Facebook user, spurred a debate online after asking whether former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo should run for the top seat in 2022?The post elicited mixed reactions among members of the United States of Kiambu Facebook page, with a section of them arguing that Kabogo is fit for the job. Here are some of the reactions:Caroline Wahome said: "Kabogo has always been my all-time favourite. Whichever way God paves way, count on my support."Mungai Kinuthia said: "He got our full support, let him go for the top sit...Deputizing ni kutumika tu!"Wazimuu Kiwembee said: "Kweli wewe una ndoto za abunuasi. Yani u are still talking abt kabogo..."George Gitahi said: "Yes I think so..only one left in the family of Mt Kenya with a say."Sam Nduchez said: "Kabogo was a good leader until he brought those bouncers around him and engaged marijuana arrogant bloggers."Samuel Ngeru said: "Alishidwa kujenga choo Ngewa ward mambo ya nchi ndio ataweza bure kabisa."
