After 18 months of waiting, the Building Bridges Initiative team handed over the report on Tuesday, with the public expected to get the document on Wednesday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga were joined by Deputy President William Ruto when they received the report at State House.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House, Nairobi received the Building Bridges Initiative report from the initiative's taskforce led by their Chairman Senator Yusuf Haji. Present were Deputy President Dr. @WilliamsRuto and former Prime Minister @RailaOdinga," State House said.

On his Twitter account, Raila commended the Building Bridges Initiative team for delivering the report within the stipulated time.

He asked members of the public to read and familiarise themselves with the report from Wednesday when the copies will be distributed to the public.

"I commend @TheRealBBI team for the diligent work they have undertaken for the past year having visited all 47 counties," he said.

"I urge you all to read and familiarize yourselves with the report once it's publicly available starting tomorrow," he added.

His remarks coincide with those of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who asked Kenyans last week to first read the report before giving their general input.

The two leaders buried a hatchet in 2018 after a divisive election and the report is expected to cure a number of challenges Kenyans have been experiencing.
