A bodaboda chairman in Nyamira County was injured following a grisly road accident that involved two motorbikes.
Keroka bodaboda chairman Dominic Babu is currently receiving treatment at Tenwek Mission hospital in Bomet County.
Confirming the incident, area traffic police boss Abigael Mecho said Mr Babu was involved in a accident while returning to his home on Monday evening.
"Babu's motorbike was hit from behind with a speeding bodaboda boda rider along the Keroka-Kijauri road. He sustained fracture injuries and was rushed to Tenweka hospital where is currently recapturing," said Mecho.
Ms Mecho said a manhunt has been launched to arrest the speeding rider who escaped on foot after the accident.
"Riders should embrace safety when using our roads. The rider who escaped from the accident scene is being traced to be arrested and be arraigned in court to serve as an example to other careless motorbike riders," she noted.
She appealed to motorists not to be in hurry on roads to curb unnecessary accidents.
According to her, more speed pumps will be erected on the roads to slow down speeding motorists.
