A General Service Unit (GSU) officer who was pictured at 14 Riverside Drive Complex in Nairobi bravely rescuing victims from Tuesday's terrorist attack has been identified and congratulated.
The officer has been identified as Ali Kombo from the Kenyan Coast.
He was among the officers who responded quickly to the attack when terrorists stormed the DusitD2 hotel and opened fire on civilians. The terrorists were later neutralised by special agents.
Kombo touched hearts his photo online showing him covering civilians in the process of rescuing them from the danger that was staring at them.
He is seen squatting with both hands on his G3 rifle, index finger ready to pull the trigger and eagle-eyes fixed at possibly danger zone created by terrorists.
The civilians had so much trusted him with some even clinging onto his jacket. Ali made at least two rounds in directing people out of danger zone.
Residents in Mombasa and across the Coastal region took to social media to specifically congratulate their own after it was revealed that he hailed from the Coast.
Some were saying that Mr. Kombo being one of the GSU officers and a brave one, should be promoted, trained better so that he joins the elite GSU group famously known as the Recce Squad.
Here are other congratulation messages.
