Speaking during his tour of Migori County on Saturday, Ruto noted that he is ready to work with opposition leader and his chief nemesis Raila Odinga.

He lauded Odinga who was until earlier this year a top critic of the ruling Jubilee government before his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta for shelving his opposition.

"However, God’s plans are many. As you can see, 'Baba' has joined our fold and we are working together for the greater good of the country. "

I am ready to work with him and all leaders across the political divide to unite the country and foster development,” he was quoted by the Nation.

Ruto further defended his sudden political romance with area Governor Okoth Obado, stating that he does not care what people think about their closeness.

He noted that the same is founded on their joint vision to deliver to Kenyans and area residents.

"Is there a problem if I work with Governor Okoth Obado? I will continue to work with him to deliver development to our people. I will not mind what is said of our closeness,” he is further quoted.

Obado has hosted Ruto in the county twice this week, as the Deputy Head of State toured parts of Migori town on Monday, on Saturday, he visited Kuria constituencies.
