The government through the Kenya Police Service has moved to arrest some of the students suspected to have torched two dormitories at Chulaimbo Secondary School.

On Sunday, Kisumu police arrested six students who were suspected to have torched the dormitories which housed more than 100 students.

Speaking to Ramogi radio, Kisumu Sub County educational officer Albert Langat noted that property destroyed in the fire was approximately worth Sh3 million.

Elsewhere, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday announced that it shall start archiving details of students involved in unrest into their records.

In a tweet, the DCI explained that the archived information will always be used when issuing certificate of good conduct.

"This is to warn every student from Primary School, Secondary School, College & University that the @DCI_Kenya is archiving & profiling every criminal act and consolidating charges that may be preferred to each & every student involved in any crime.#IFIKIEMASTUDE.

"If you commit a crime, you’ll be held accountable. Pass the information to the students. #IFIKIEMASTUDE.," the DCI posted on its Twitter handle.
