Kisii Central police post-OCPD Eliud Kimwele confirmed the arrest of the 22-year-old man.

"The suspect was nabbed after he lured the girl, a student at a local secondary school while she was leaving school and locked her in his house. Her parents waited for her at home on Monday evening in vain," he said.

Kimwele said the parents who have been suspecting the suspect of having an affair with their daughter went for a search in the man's house where they found the girl locked up.

"Police officers were immediately alerted when the girl was found in the man's house. They acted swiftly and nabbed the suspect before he could escape," said Kimwele.

He assured that the suspect will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

"Upon questioning the girl she revealed that the suspect, a school drop-out locked her up forcibly. He must be charged in court to serve as an example to other men chasing schoolgirls for sex," he stated.
