The Benga music fraternity has suffered yet another blow following Tuesday's death of talented musician George Morara alias Omorendire.
Mr Morara, popularly known for his magic behind drums worked with legendary Sungusia Boys band which colonised airwaves in Nyamira and neighbouring Kisii County before unprecedented split.
Last year in September, the team also suffered a blow after the death of vocalist Bernard Onsongo alias Onsongo Omosongo.
"It is sad that we have just lost George Morara alias Omorendire. He died when being rushed to Nyamira Hospital for treatment.
"He is one of people's favourite singer but his stay behind drums rocked events," said his friend, Bonnie Kegusu.
On social media, fans sent condolences with some taking the opportunity to post their selfies with him.
Bonyamatuta MCA Robinson Mocheche who doubles as county Deputy Speaker, hailed the deceased as modern day hero.
"It is sad that Omorendire is no longer with us. He was our hero and my he rest in peace," said Mocheche.
Sungusia Boys band which emerged after the death of John Arisi, a legendary musician in 1996, later on split into Sungusia Original and Kwasa Kwasa.
