Last month, in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta the DP met Ruto at Bomet during the Lake Region Economic Bloc expo.

But a lead campaigner in Ruto's team hinted that the DP could have after all bought Chama Cha Mashinani party from the former governor.

"My friend is all about strategy. This matter (CCM) was concluded long time ago. Tomorrow's meeting is just meant to prepare supporters mentally.

"It's a good move because in politics you must be alert all the time. That's the only way you can survive," he hinted.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago in the company of other Rift Valley leaders, met Ruto at Chepalungu where the absorption of CCM party by the DP was discussed.

The two will attend various functions across the county before meeting area leaders for a closed door meeting.

When Uhuru visited last month, furious Bomet leaders stormed out of his functions for allegedly being denied permission to address people, a claim which Governor Joyce Laboso defended on pretext of time constraints.
