A man went amok and killed his wife in Kericho after he found her in bed with another man.
The suspect confessed murdering the wife and surrendered to police.
Julius Rotich, 45, claimed he went home late night on Friday only for his wife to be reluctant to open the door.
On peeping through his bedroom, Rotich realized his wife had been entertaining another man in their matrimonial bed.
A confrontation ensued later where the said lover escaped to thin air before the irked man cornered the wife with a panga and hacked her to death.
The incident at Kaplelach village left neighbours shocked.
Area chief Paul Cheruiyot confirmed the incident.
“The suspect handed himself in on Saturday. Investigations are ongoing,” the chief said.
The deceased, 40, left behind eight children. Her body was taken to Kericho sub-county hospital.
A police officer involved in investigations of the brutal murder said they are trying to connect dots in the heinous act.
“We are still in investigations. We want to establish everything in this case. How come the alleged lover was able to flee from the scene if they were in the house?” the officer said.
