Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has taken issue with his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen’s claims and declaration over the ongoing evictions in the Mau Forest.
Adressing a section of the evictees on Thursday, Murkomen demonized the evictions, noting that it is against the law, demanding that they return to their homes in the forest.
However, it a tweet on Friday, Senator Ole Kina hit out at the Senate Majority Leader, accusing him of taking advantage of the poor people.
He urged the vocal leader to stop interfering and instead concentrate on his Elgeyo Marakwet constituents' issues.
‘’Mr majority leader kindly go and tanga tanga in Elgeiyo- Marakwet and stop taking advantage of the poor people,’’ said the opposition legislator.
He as well accused Murkomen who accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of spearheading the evictions of maximizing on the debate for political mileage.
He downplayed his concerns, urging locals to ignore him.
‘’This will not help you gain a political life line. The people of Narok should ignore this guys,’’ further reads the tweet.
Kipchumba who was accompanied by a section of Rift Valley allied to the ruling Jubilee Party also accused the officers carrying out the procedure of infringing on human rights in the process.
