A night runner has become the talk of the town at Mabungo in Maseno, after he met the police on Monday night.
The man was hanging on thick thickets along the dark street leading to Kwa Chief, an area where some Maseno University students reside.
The man has been sending chills into the nerves of students and other residents using the street at night.
Police who made a rare patrol on the street on Monday night noticed trees shaking before they identified the face of the man using a spotlight.
Reports indicate that the man confessed he was a night-runner after one of the police approached with a gun.
“I am not a thief. I just felt like hanging here. Just let me leave. I didn’t know it was you. I am very sorry,” said the night-runner.
The police allowed the man to leave after some residents started taking pictures of him.
The scene created a standstill as residents thought that the rampant “Wanyore thieves” were around.
