The constitutional lawyer was part of Wajir top leaders that Deputy President William Ruto hosted for a luncheon at his Karen home on Tuesday.

Abdikadir is considered as among veteran and vocal politicians from Northern Kenya.

In the 2013 general election, the former chairperson of the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC) did not contest for any seat.

Owing to his experience on legal matters, Abdikadir was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as his legal advisor.

In March 2018, the former legislator shocked Kenyans when he declined an ambassadorial position.

President Kenyatta had nominated him as Kenya’s ambassador to South Korea, a nomination he declined to take.

It is believed that he declined the nomination to concentrate on his legal career and business.

But as the 2022 succession takes shape, the constitutional lawyer and expert could find himself back in active politics.

The former MP’s experience in legal and constitutional matters could see him return to politics.

Though he has not hinted on making a return to politics in 2022, his meeting with DP Ruto on Tuesday speaks volumes.

The constitutional expert is likely among legal minds the DP is said to be wooing ahead of the 2022 general election.
