At an interview with Radio Maisha on Monday, Dena said she hasn't been sharing information frequently to the media like her predecessors, adding that she's changing her moduli operandi.

"I agree that the communication from my side as the StateHouse Spokesperson has had a setback, and I accept that a mistake was made, but I am focused and I am going to make things right and share information more frequently with the media and the public," she said.

On her working relationship with State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita, Dena said the two are in good terms, insisting that their roles do not conflict as it could be interpreted by members of the public.

In recent times, Mr Waita has been issuing briefs that pertains President Uhuru Kenyatta's operations and his views on certain topical questions.

"There is a difference between @NziokaWaita's role and my role and it is not true that there's any conflict. When it requires him to speak or respond to an issue of public interest then he does so because he too works for the same President and our goal is the same," added the former Citizen TV anchor.

In March, Mr Waita issued official communication following deactivation of Uhuru's social media accounts. The move raised eyebrows on Ms Dena's job at State House.

"On account of unauthorised access to the official social media handles of the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, all official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken," he said.

Kanze Dena replaced Manoah Esipisu last year. Mr Esipisu was appointed Nairobi's envoy to London after six years in charge of Uhuru's communication.
