He said that ODM's "naivety" is laughable because they are expecting Uhuru to endorse Raila in 2022 which is not going to happen.

"Every time I watch juvenile excitement on the part of ODM leaders that the Presidency would be passed on to Raila you can’t help but laugh at their naivety,” tweeted the former Lagdera MP.

He said ODM members should not be deluded to think that the handshake will warrant support for Raila's candidature in 2022.

He further warned that all that Uhuru is doing is looking out for himself as he serves his last and final term in office.

"Uhuru is not fighting for Raila or against Ruto. Uhuru is fighting for himself," stated Maalim adding that in the end, "history will judge."

Some tweeps agreed with him saying that the President is bent on leaving a good legacy.

Lately, the handshake between Uhuru and Raila has been taken centre stage in political debates, with factions allied to both leaders taking different standpoints on some of the issues bordering in the handshake.
