Shock has engulfed Maliku village in Kitui Central sub-county after details emerged concerning an illicit love affair between a minor and his aunt.
Area chief Mwendwa Munyaka said the minor has been having an affair with the aunt for a long time.
Munyaka said the boy dropped out of school to engage in theft so as to fend for his 'lover'.
"The two are related, the boy dropped out of school and has since then been engaging in theft," Munyaka said.
He addressed the press in Kitui town on Thursday.
Munyaka said the boy is suspected to be conniving with the lady in stealing, she allegedly sells the stolen items.
The chief said he is apparently investigating an incident where the minor is accused of stealing green grams amounting to 600kg after irate villagers frog matched him to his office.
"Just the other day the boy was brought to my office being accused of stealing green grams from one of the residents," Munyaka said.
He said the woman had been arrested and will be arraigned in court once police complete their investigations.
Munyaka said the minor will be taken back to school to enable him to complete his education.
He warned that stern measures will be taken against anyone found having sexual affairs with minors.
