Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter is yet again headed on a collision course with Deputy President William Ruto's camp following his latest post on social media.
The controversial legislator on Sunday took to his official Facebook page where he reiterated that he is ready to make sacrifices so as to ensure somebody from his tribe does not lead the country.
Though he did not mention who that somebody is, it is very clear that the message was targeted at Deputy President Wiliam Ruto who is eying the top seat in 2022.
"Politics is about making sacrifices and being firm. I will not allow a thief to ruin Kenya simply because he comes from my tribe. Never. I am off to the United States to address our brothers and sisters on why we must join other Kenyans in saving our country from the greed of one of us. Pray for me. Kitaeleweka," posted Keter.
The sentiments comes barely a week after Keter who recently survived an election petition said he will go round the country and urge Kenyans not to elect DP Ruto as the next head of state.
The MP did not mention the second in demand by his name but warned that if he becomes president, other tribes will hate the Kalenjin community.
Already a section of leaders in the North Rift has hit out at the MP with members of the Uasin Gishu County Assembly threatening to ban him from stepping in the county he has been frequenting if he does not apologize.
“As leaders from this county, we condemn Keter’s utterances with strongest terms possible and we urge him to apologize to the deputy president and the Kalenjin nation at large,” said the Assembly's leader of majorityJosphat Lowoi who read the statement on behalf of the over 20 Ward Representatives.
The sentiments are also said to have led to a confrontation between Keter and Soy MP Caleb Kositany at parliament buildings in Nairobi on Thursday.
