Speaking at St Christopher's Catholic Church in Kyumbi, Makutano on Sunday, Ndeti said Mutua's appeal does not "hold any water".

"The Court of Appeal was very clear that the 2017 Machakos gubernatorial poll was not free and fair and as such we are all waiting for a by-election," Ndeti said.

The former MP said Mutua is wasting time at the Supreme Court and should prepare for the ballot.

Ndeti exuded confidence that she will beat Mutua in the by-election.

She claimed that Machakos people are tired of Mutua's alleged Public Relations and publicity leadership.

Ndeti claimed Machakos is one of the poorest county's in the country despite getting the huge budgetary allocation every year.

She called on her supporters and Machakos residents to remain calm and peaceful.

The Court of Appeal nullified Mutua's election on grounds that it was not free and fair.

The court ordered a fresh gubernatorial election in conformity with the law.

Mutua has since appealed the ruling at the Supreme Court and has equally exuded confidence that the Chief Justice David Maraga led court will reinstate his victory.
