The election of Homa Bay governor, Cyprian Awiti, has been nullified by the Court of Appeal.
Awiti's election did meet the constitutional threshold, the court argued.
Kenyans on social media have been reacting to the development.
Here is what Garissa residents had to say:
"The people of Homa Bay should be allowed to decide the direction of their county," Barakat Siman says.
"He should not appeal the decision at the Supreme Court. Elections should be held," Farah Mohamed says.
"This will be another cost to the taxpayer. The court should have declared the winner," Kamal Abdi says.
"If the election was not conducted in accordance with the constitution, it is only proper that another one be called," Hasheem Yunus says.
"Kenyans are tired of elections," Bule Amad says.
The nulification upheld the verdict of a lower court.
It will be interesting to see the course of action that Cyprian Awiti intends to take.
