1. Lupita Nyong’o
She is an Oscar awarding winning actress.
Lupita who is Kisumu Governor Professor Anyang' Nyong’o's daughter recently featured in the Black Panther movie.
She was born in Mexico but grew up in the Lakeside City of Kisumu County.
2. Jalang’o
Felix Odiwour alias Jalang'o was born and raised in Kisumu County. He is an actor, radio presenter, comedian and film director.
3. Eric Omondi
He was born in 1985 in Kondele, Kisumu County. Omondi is a famous comedian and actor.
He attended Kisumu Boys High School for his secondary education.
4. Conjestina Achieng
She is known for her boxing prowess and made Kenyans proud during her reign in the boxing rings.
The boxer was born at Yala in 1977 and become the first African woman to hold an international boxing title.
5. Akothee
Esther Akoth alias Akothee or Madam Boss was born and raised up in Kisumu before moving to Mombasa and later Nairobi.
The controversial music star’s talent continues to shine having won several local and regional awards.
In 2016, she won the Best Female East Africa (AFRIMA) award.
