Particularly concerning to him was rumours being bandied around that he was behind an impending cabinet reshuffle, saying that the sole appointing authority is the president.

"I don't know what sickness the media is suffering from. They are spreading propaganda and untruths so that they can make money. Some people are saying that I am behind an impending cabinet reshuffle, there is a tour in Nyanza where projects will be unveiled. If there is any information it will come from the president's office. If I have any information, it will come from my office," Raila said.

His words come in the wake of allegations by Sports CS Rashid Echesa that Raila was planning his ouster from the cabinet.

There has been speculation that Raila has been helping the president make key decisions including reshuffling the cabinet.

He spoke at Orange House as he offered his endorsement of Ochilo Ayako for the senatorial race in Migori.
