A man and his wife are yet to come into terms after their 5-year-old son died while on a playing field in suspected witchcraft incident on Tuesday at Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County.
Silvester Omurwa, a pastor said his son returned home from school and left with his friends to play 50 meters away from home when he met his death.
“I was in the house with my wife when my son’s friend arrived and told us that our son slept and has not woken up. We rushed there and found him lying down unconscious,” he said.
Omurwa said he raised an alarm and members of the public arrived and rushed the minor to hospital.
“It was a mysterious death because my son died while he was being rushed to the hospital. I leave everything to God,” he noted.
Joakim, area assistant chief said the man of God has been having difficult times in marriage because witches have been giving him sleepless nights.
He warned residents against witchcraft saying anyone who will be found will face the residents and the law alone.
The administrator said the body of the deceased was taken to Hema hospital mortuary.
