Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika now wants the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti to form an inquiry that will probe rising mysterious murders targeting young women in the country.
Kihika says that women are the target in the horrific murder cases that are being reported in some parts of the country.
Speaking in Nakuru on Saturday, Kihika said the murders are worrying and women no longer feel safe.
"The DPP and DCI along with other security agencies must look into these issue and guarantee security of women especially university girls and business women," she said.
Kihika said something is wrong in the country.
"Things are not right and relevant security agencies must wake up and find out why the country is hit with mysterious murders," she said.
Kihika condoled with the families of Sharon Otieno and Monica Kimani's urging security agencies to hunt down their killers.
She said that their killers must be punished irrespective of the positions they hold in society.
Monica Kimani's lifeless body was found in her Kilimani apartment in Nairobi two weeks ago.
She was buried at her family home in Gilgil on Friday.
Police are holding Joseph Irungu and TV news anchor Jacque Maribe in connection with the murder.
In Sharon's murder case, Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his two Personal Assistant's are in custody.
They are remanded at the Nairobi Industrial Area until October 8 when their bail application will be heard.
