A furious President Uhuru Kenyatta now wants Mt Kenya legislators to divert their energy towards 'serious isdues' instead of investing their time in 'endless' politics.
Speaking in Nyeri on Thursday, Uhuru insisted that the country is not ready for persistent political duels, warning those 'loitering' around.
“I am more concerned with developing our nation and not to engage in politics. My silence should not be taken for granted. Every leader needs to work and deliver results for all Kenyans,” Uhuru said.
He added: "We are just from an election. We decided to work with the opposition to unite our country. It worries me that some of you are loitering around instead of working."
Two factions have emerged in Mt Kenya, one rooting for Deputy President William Ruto by attending fundraisers across the country with another one led by Ngunjiri Wambugu, insisting on 'helping the president secure legacy by stopping endless politics'.
And to solve debate in possible vacuum in the region when he exits politics, Uhuru insisted that he remains the region's kingpin.
"Don't take my silence for granted. I will reveal my 2022 choice when time comes and it will shock you. I am not a fool, I will give my voice when time comes."
His statements comes amid pressure from a section of Rift Valley MPs to have him backing Deputy President William Ruto, who stood with him both in 2013 and 2017.
Ever since reconciling with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Uhuru has seemingly ignored his deputy William Ruto, causing anxiety within Jubilee party.
