Almost a week after the agonising DusitD2 terror attack, the government is yet to establish the whereabouts of chief suspect and bride to mastermind Ali Salim Gichunge, Ms Violet Kemunto.
So far, Gichunge's mother Salma Gichunge and his father, a KDF sergeant Ali Gichunge, have been taken in by the police for questioning over what they knew about their son's activities.
But with sources establishing Violet was Gichunge's wife, authorities are yet to arrest any of her kin for questioning, leave alone tracing their whereabouts.
With Ms Kemunto now gone perhaps to Somalia, her family members have not come out public an expose by the Saturday Nation.
According to the Saturday Nation, Kemunto was born in Ruai to a Kalenjin father who died 14 years ago and a Kisii mother who still lives in Ruai but has since remarried.
In her family, the Nation says, there are four girls and two boys. The boys have since moved to the US and are grown-ups. They are said to have supported Kemunto's boutique business in Nairobi between 2016 and 2017.
In 2016, Kemunto travelled to Kisii to link up with her relatives. Where there, she posted photos of her on Facebook account named Violet Omwoyo. She latter changed the account to Didgesupuu Omwoyo and thereafter Didgesupuu Faruq.
Through the Nation's account, Kemunto's sister whose name is withheld, she cut contact with the family in 2016 October and since then nobody knows about her whereabouts.
According to the friend, the couple put up a Facebook post announcing the sale of all their household goods in Muchatha as they were moving to a recently completed house in Ruai.
“We were supposed to attend the house warming party for the new house next month,” the relative said.
