Allies of Deputy President William Ruto now say that no strategy against his 2022 presidential bid shall succeed.
According to Belgut lawmaker Nelson Koech, the DP and his team are well aware that plans shall shoot up to block and defeat Ruto in the much-anticipated race.
However, Koech told the Standard on Monday that they are planning a bigger plan that will shock DP Ruto's detractors plotting his downfall.
“There is a general feeling the DP is helpless because of his silence and he badly needs an endorsement for 2022. His detractors will be shocked. They may scheme to block him but we are scheming even harder," he was quoted.
The MPs' remarks were echoed by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot who maintained that the DP will not abandon the ruling Jubilee Party where he is the Deputy Party Leader.
Cheruiyot said that despite alleged wrangles and the growing anti-Ruto campaigns from within the block, Ruto will stand his ground and will emerge the winner.
“Apart from Uhuru, there is no other popular person inside and outside of the party. Those dismissing him will be shocked," he said.
This comes barely four months after Uhuru made a similar remark, warning politicians against attempting to predict his 2022 plans.
Speaking in Nyeri, Uhuru said that his successor endorsement in 2022 will shock many.
