It is a sign of hope and God's blessing to Kenyans as some parts of the country have witnessed a down bow. On Saturday evening, various parts including Nairobi City received the long-awaited rains.
Just a few hours before the downpour, the Kenya Meteorological Department had announced that it would rain in Nairobi and other regions on Sunday evening.
According to the tweet, showers and thunderstorms were expected.
"Showers and Thunderstorms expected on Sunday especially afternoon over Western Kenya, Southern and Central Rift Valley and Central Highlands including Nairobi.
Moderate to heavy Rainfall expected over the same areas from Monday and throughout next week," tweeted Kenyan Meteorological Department.
According to Acting Deputy Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department Bernard Chanzu, Kenyan rain-bearing clouds were stuck in Tanzania.
Nairobi city residents received the rain unexpectedly, however, it is not yet clear if the ling waited rainy season has begun.
