The two were presented before Milimani Law Court Senior Resident Magistrate Tobiko Sinkiyan on Wednesday for circulating photos of slain police officers who were killed in an IED attack in Wajir.

The prosecution came out asking for the two to remain in custody for a period of thirty (30) days to give way for proper investigations into this matter.

This comes after police told the court that the photos Robert Alai posted on Twitter were sent to him by an Al-Shabaab member who was at the scene of this incident

The police asked to investigate the links the two have with the Al-Shabaab which will take a month.

"This is a sensitive matter, it involves various agencies and officers who will interview them to confirm their associates and terror links," the prosecution said.

However, this was opposed by the defence claiming that both Alai and Safari have known homes where the police can get them when needed thus no need for such lengthy detention.
