There was drama at one of the hospitals in Kisumu (Marie Stopes Hospital) after a top manager clashed with the doctors over taking a HIV test.
The manager of a top dairy firm in Kisumu had brought his college girlfriend at the hospital for an abortion and was supposed to take a HIV test as part of the procedure, which he declined severally despite pressure from her spouse.
"Just do what they are saying. Take the test. Do not leave me here," cried the lady as she walked behind the manager out of the VCT room.
The situation attracted the attention of the public as the girl pleaded with sobbing eyes as they headed towards the car.
In the end, the manager opted to drive out of the hospital with about three boda bodas going after him.
Later, the curtains fell on the scampering manager as he was obstructed with stones and logs planted in the middle of the road at Forems, while he was heading towards Kisumu East.
“He impregnated the innocent girl. Do not free him. Do not accept bribes,” shouted the angry civilians.
The man, however, refuted the claims saying the girl was his niece and had just done her a favor by settling her bill.
“Let us go back and ask the doctors. This is my niece,” the man said as he left with the police driving behind him towards Kondele police station.
