A woman was on Friday night found dead while sleeping next to her husband and six-month old baby.
The shocking incident happened at Koga Village, Kanyabala location in Homabay County, while the family was asleep in their house.
Confirming the incident, acting area Chief Simeon Onano noted that he was alerted about the incident by one of the relatives to the deceased.
The administrator added that the body of 30-year old Benter Aoko Otieno had no injuries, reports the Citizen Digital.
He said the husband Elijah Otieno reported that Benter showed no signs of illness the following night.
Otieno said that Benter retired to bed immediately after preparing dinner complaining of tiredness, before he later joined her and the baby in bed.
He would later realize that she was no more when he tried to wake her up to cool down, and breastfeed the crying baby at around midnight.
The body has since been moved to the Homabay Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, as investigators try to establish the cause of the death.
The body is set to undergo a postmortem test as investigators attempt to solve the puzzle.
