The party campaigns were led by Kakamega Governor who is also the ODM Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya.

Oparanya led fellow leaders in drumming support for Chris Karan.

Karan, the party candidate in the much-anticipated byelection had his 2017 election annulled by the Supreme Court in December last year after a successful petition.

The leaders held campaigns in Jera, North Ugenya ward, after a debates meeting in the area.

"Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya today led the ODM brigade into holding delegates meeting and a rally in Jera, North Ugenya ward to drum up support for the ODM party candidate Chris Karan," the ODM party wrote in a Facebook statement.

Karan will be facing off with among others, his main rival and his predecessor David Ochieng' who was behind the petition that began from the High Court to the apex court.

Ochieng' finished a close second in the 2017 polls, before crying foul and filing a successful petition.

The ODM party has vowed to ensure that it wins the seat with a safe margin in the April 5 by-election.
