A book allegedly containing the list of people lined up for death was recovered on Friday at Tombe in Nyamira.
The book, suspected to be a temporary register for people practicing witchcraft, has sent shocking waves across the county.
While it could not be immediately established the motive behind leaking of the book, preliminary reports indicate that those mentioned as leaders of suspected witches have since disappeared from the village.
For the better time of Friday, residents took on social media to condemn witchcraft with some dismissing it as 'imaginations'.
"Witchcraft exists and those opposing it are either accomplices or sympathizers," said Shamila.
Another user, Kevin Mochama added: "We are lagging behind just because some people don't want to move ahead. It's time to condemn those behind it."
But some said that witchcraft is an imagination of those who don't want to embrace reality.
"I've never seen a witch. All I hear is stories and I think those who believe in such innuendos should stop," said Jones.
It is not clear why suspected witches write names of their preys or even whether their magic works.
Last year in July, one person was lynched over witchcraft claims while his accomplices scampered for safety.
Authorities are yet to comment on the latest witchcraft claims that has left people worried in Kitutu Masaba.
