The warder, 24-year-old Pauline Wangari, was later found murdered.

Wangari's decomposing body was found in her bed on Wednesday. It was naked and a roll of bhang placed on her lips and a knife on her left hand. The body had stab wounds in the chest, head and abdomen.

CCTV footage shows the man, now a suspect, entering and leaving the house.

According to edaily, one of Wangari's colleagues at the Murang’a GK prison said she knows the suspect.

She described him as tattooed and a ‘friend of the deceased’.

Police want to establish what happened between the moments the middle-aged man entered the house until when he left.

Murang’a police boss, Josephat Kinyua, said the video is a major breakthrough in the investigations.

Wangari, who had served as a warder for three years, was described by friends as carousing.

When not on duty, she was known for hard clubbing, a friend said.

“She was adorable, social and loved going easy. She was one person who could light up kampi,” the friend added.
