Barely two weeks after the DusitD2 terror attack, Kenyans have learned to be vigilant against anything that compromises with security.
Eldoret trolley pullers have discovered ways to counter the threat of terrorism in town.
John Kimutai, a trolley puller stationed at Eldoret main market revealed that when ferrying luggage, the owner should be assisting in pulling or even boarding the trolley for the safety of all.
“Tumekubaliana hata iweje lazima mtu akae juu ya mzigo yake kama ni kufa atakufa na silaha yake (We have agreed that if anyone hires trolley, he/she should sit on top of his luggage and in case of any blast he dies also),” Kimutai said.
A man who identified himself as Njoroge said that the terrorists have morphed their movement, recruiting their fellow Kenyans and using unsuspecting places to deliver their terror weapons.
“We have to think out of the box to counter the menace, it is our responsibility as Kenyans to be brother’s keeper reporting to the relevant security agencies any suspected people,” noted Kimutai, a businessman in Eldoret.
This has come barely a week after one of the trolley pullers in Nairobi was injured after he allegedly carried luggage that had an Improvised Electronic Device (IED).
