Speaking on Wednesday in Nairobi, a furious Uhuru maintained that Mr Odinga had no business to wreck Jubilee party, adding that those claiming so should introduce party politics later on in his presidency.

"I have heard some making noise that Raila is breaking Jubilee party. I mean, we should discuss Jubilee issues later. That Uhuru is out to wreck ODM, I don't even have a clue on who ODM is. This is a completely different setup," insisted Uhuru.

A group of Jubilee leaders led by Deputy President William Ruto have often bashed Mr Odinga, accusing him of using the cordial relationship with the president to cause disharmony ahead of 2022 polls.

But according to Mr Kenyatta, his interaction with Raila is all about people, adding that the two often mean and share ideas on how to improve the economy of the country.

"He has never told me he wants to be president in 2022; I have not told him I want to be president in 2022. We have just been talking about the issues that affect our people. When it comes to infrastructure, what do we need to do? We discuss and we support each other and agree," Uhuru said.

"When it comes to health, this is what we need to do. What is this issue of digitising our records and what is it about. We sit, we discuss, we agree. He also gives me ideas that enhance something and make it even better. Now what's wrong with that?"

The two reconciled in March 2018, exactly five months after chaotic electioneering period, which saw Uhuru going alone to a repeat presidential election following nullification of his victory by the Supreme Court.

Dr Ruto has read sinister motives in the partnership, arguing that even the ongoing fight against corruption is a choreographed move to dismantle his 2022 chances.
