In a Facebook post, Fafi Member of Parliament Abdikarim Osman noted that the leaders met Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, and  Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai, with key concerns revolving around security.

"We the political leaders from Northern Kenya counties had a meeting with Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and NPS Inspector Hillary Nzioki Mutyambai during which we demanded a halt to ongoing violation and forceful eviction of Somali herders and their livestock from their legitimate ranches in Voi and Kwale," he said

During the meeting, the legislator questioned the security officials on their plan to end occasional terror attacks in the region, specifically in Fafi constituency.

"I particularly sought to know the government's commitment and intention in containing the vicious terror attacks in my constituency," he added.

He urged the government to deploy special forces to the most affected areas in the region, in a bid to prevent future attacks.

"I asked them to deploy special forces to Yumbis, Fafi Centre and Welmarer areas. We are scheduled to meet again this week for further deliberations regarding this particular matter," he said.
