Governor John Nyagarama returned to Mombasa days after unfruitful meeting with county MPs in Kisumu.
Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Ben Momanyi of Borabu reportedly protested out of a meeting in Kisumu last weekend after disagreement over appointment of chief officers.
But a worried Nyagarama convened an urgent meeting in Mombasa this weekend where he's hosting MCAs and members of his executive.
The county assembly has been wrangling with the executive over itemised budget that is yet to be implemented.
Also attending the retreat at the coastal grip is county speaker Moffat Teya, who is leading the delegation of MCAs.
For several months now, the county has struggled in payment of workers, service delivery and internal wrangles between Nyagarama and his deputy Amos Nyaribo.
