We all wish to find love in a person who will be with us for the rest of our lives, have a family together and grow old together. However, in some cases, the mother might be absent due to their choice or as a result of a certain circumstance which mandates the fathers with the responsibility of taking care of the children.
Being a single dad needs one to be compassionate, humble, courageous and patience. It is not easy as they face the following challenges;
1. Making time for self-care
Parenting is not such an easy task and it might come along with stress and inability to balance self-care, work and taking care of the children all by himself.
2. Dating
Every one of us desires to enjoy company with other people and it might be a challenge for a single father who might not be at ease to start dating again. This too might also be a challenge to the children who will try coming into terms of having a stepmother. However, the father should be open to their children and talk about the decision to date.
3. Discipline
Single fathers are mostly compelled to avoid quarrelling or upsetting their children at all costs despite what they do as this might stress them out. To instil discipline, a single father should always remember that the anger they might have won't last long, thus remain calm and set out rules that fairy guide the children.
