More elected Members of Parliament from Gusii region have joined a camp of MPs pushing for salary hike.
The MPs led by Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka said there is nothing bad for MPs to get a salary hike.
"We deserve salary hike and get good allowances such as house allowance since we can't live in deplorable conditions yet we are serving the electorates. Those opposing MPs move to seek salary hike have a hidden agenda they want to achieve," he noted.
The vocal MP said he won't regret being among the MPs pushing salary hike.
Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Nuru Angwenyi had earlier maintained that MPs' salary hike is unstoppable.
"The Head of State and NASA leader Raila Odinga should keep off affairs involving MPs. We deserve good pay and allowances to enable us continue serving our people," said Angwenyi.
According to the National Assembly Deputy Majority leader, MPs are not the first people to demand salary hike.
Bonchari MP John Oyioka confirmed that he will push for salary hike no matter what.
"MPs salary hike should not be politicized because we deserve better payment and allowances," he added.
