Migori governor Zachary Okoth Obado might not celebrate this year's Valentines day on February 14 owing to a court case linking him to the murder of former Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
While setting Obado free on bond, Lady Justice Lessit set the pre-trial to be February 14, 2019 a date that coincides with Valentine's day.
The hearing will later kick off as from May 6th to 17th excluding weekends.
In the case pitting governor Obado, his other close accomplices including personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero were denied bail and are still being held under the custody of investigating police officers.
In September 2018, Obado was picked by sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and driven to Gigiri police station to write his statement on what he knew about the murder of Sharon Otieno who was reportedly murdered in cold blood at Kodera forest.
Reports also indicated that the late student was pregnant with Obado's child, a thing that the Migori county boss accepted responsibility.
At the courts, Okoth will be charged with murder case even as the DCI prefer two murder counts on him; killing of a mother and the unborn child.
