There was drama on Tuesday when a vocal Nairobi politician was heckled by mourners during a burial in Narok County.
Jubilee Nominated MCA Leah Naikanae was booed after attacking ODM leader Raila Odinga for allegedly linking Deputy President William Ruto to corruption.
Speaking during the funeral service of ODM Deputy Vice Chairperson Christine Lemein’s brother, Joseph Lemein, the MCA defended the DP claiming there was a plot to paint him as corrupt over his 2022 presidential bid.
"Every day when we listen to radios, televisions and (read) newspapers, what we see is DP William Ruto this and that. DP Ruto is not your food," fired the politician amid jeers from the crowd.
She spoke at Olmotonyi village in Narok North in an event that was attended by Jubilee leaders including area Governor Samuel Tunai and Narok South MP Korei Ole Lemein.
Naikanae is one of Ruto's fiercest defenders in Nairobi and last week she vowed not to allow the ODM leader to bring the DP down.
In a press conference that was attended by several City MCAs on Friday, she accused the former Prime Minister of a plan to "kill" Jubilee by putting a wedge between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy.
"If this trend is left unchecked, we will not have a party in the future," cautioned Naikanae.
