Jubilee Party candidate Ahmed Kolosh has won the Wajir West by-election.
According to preliminary results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Kolosh has garnered 11,053 votes against his rival Ibrahim Sheikh who has 6,532 votes.
Abdi Noor has 6 votes, Yusuf Elmi has11 votes and Abbas Nunow has 4 votes.
According to the results streamed live by IEBC 17, 606 voters voted in the by-election.
Wajir West has 27, 544 registered voters distributed in 75 polling centres.
The Thursday voting was characterised by low voter turn-out.
There were no major incidents in terms of irregularities being reported.
Kolosh had been taunted as the favourite to clinch the by-election.
He had his 2017 election victory nullified by the Supreme Court over irregularities.
Kolosh then ditched ODM to join Jubilee Party after his election was nullified.
Three candidates Yusuf Elmi (ODM), Abbas Nunow (Agano) and Abdi Noor (LPK) withdrew their candidature from the by-election in support of Kolosh.
