An angry man attacked and injured his wife in public on Wednesday morning after she allegedly received a phone call from her ex-husband.
This happened in Sameta, Kisii County.
Locals said Evans Onduko was angered by his wife Doris Kemunto's decision to receive a phone call in his presence.
"Onduko married Kemunto after she broke from with her former man but, she has been constantly talking with the ex-husband until today when Onduko while they were going to the farm, he found her speaking on phone with him promoting to the attack," said Daniel Okindo.
Mr. Okindo said the woman fainted after she was hit with a strong fist on her left shoulder.
"We administered first aid on her while her husband escaped from the scene in fear of attack," he added.
Area assistant chief Alvin Ombeta said cases of women cheating on their husbands are on the rise in the area.
"As much as we should ask men to stop beating wives, women should also learn not to be adulterous while in marriage. Okindo is being traced to be arrested since he hit his wife and abandoned her on the roadside," he said.
