Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has broken his silence over the ongoing graft war.
Matiang'i while addressing Christians at Bomondo Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Nyamira county said corruption must come to an end.
"Government operations must run smoothly. I promise to work day and night to deliver this country from corrupt officers in government who are syphoning tax payer's money in a move which will see President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts to end corruption derailed," he stated.
The CS challenged Kisii and Nyamira county leaders not to be part of those misusing public money meant for development.
According to Matiang'i, elected leaders from the two counties need to embrace unity and work together towards realizing accelerated development.
Matiang'i also warned police officers against collecting bribes from members of the public noting that they need to be at the forefront fighting graft.
"Members of the public should report any police they suspect demanding for bribes. Whoever is found should be considered as a corrupt person hence the law will take its course," moted Matiang'i.
He further challenged politicians not to politicize the ongoing graft war stating that corruption will derail development in the country.
