The presence of Chief Justice David Maraga at President Uhuru Kenyatta's tour to Kisii on Wednesday has caught the attention of political analyst Richard Bosire.

In an interview with the reporter, Bosire faulted Maraga for 'playing to execute tune', adding that his presence could yet again loosen the grip of the judiciary in the administration of justice.

"I am really concerned with his presence. He's the president of the Judiciary, with a budget which also has the mandate to launch its own projects," he said.

Further, Bosire said: "With the current friction between the two entities, they just need to execute functions separately. The trip was not healthy at all. I wish he sets his priorities right."

Lately, President Uhuru Kenyatta has faulted the judiciary in his fight against graft, accusing it of sabotaging expedited delivery of justice.

But at a leaders meeting in Kisii School on Wednesday, Maraga defended the judiciary, adding that he's keen to 'devolve' justice delivery by building more courts.

He hailed the country's top leadership for working together. Further, the Chief Justice also called for prudent management of resources at all arms of government.

"I want to thank Governor James Ongwae for inviting me to this occasion. Seeing the country's top leadership working together is fantastic. I am also happy to have joined all of you."

"As a government, let's encourage one another when it comes to service delivery. In the Judiciary, we are committed to working with impartiality and fairness," said Maraga.

Also present in the launching of various projects in Kisii County were Deputy President William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga and several leaders from both Kisii and Nyamira Counties.
