The battle began after Awiti's August 8 election, after which Magwanga, unsatisfied with the results, successfully challenged it at the high and appellate courts.

The ruling has now saved the county and its residents from another round of noisy campaigns for the top seat were Magwanga to win.

This also means that the violence and arguments between the aspirants and their supporters will not be witnessed, not until in the approaching 2022 elections.

Awiti's supporters in the county are now a happy lot as their man is no longer at risk of losing the seat were they to be sent back to the polls by the Supreme Court.

However, on the other hand, its a major blow to the supporters of Magwanga who will now have to wait until 2022 to again make an attempt to have their leader in power.

This is also a demoralizing blow to his supporters who believe that he won the election but it was snatched away from him.

Judging by the fact that the court's decision is final, they will have to live with their disapproval of the result, which can only worsen the pain and grief they are experiencing.

Also on the losing end are grassroots contract campaigners and mobilizers whose opportunity to cash in at campaigns has gone and will have to wait until 2022.
